Jangseung 
Ash, walnut, mahogany and poplar with red ink. length varies from 3 inches to 9 inches

collaborated with Woohyung Jung from RISD painting department for the exhibition"Women and War A Contemporary Art Perspective​​​​​​​" in Glendale Library through the help of CARE(Comfort Women Action for Redress and Education). 

Jangseung is a Korean traditional totem that people would build in front of their town to expel bad spirits that would invade the place. Korean shaman scriptures were written on these carved Jangseung to illustrate wishes of the people from the period where the country was colonized by Japan.

The wishes was about: To have these colonizers stop abusing the people, or to have hope to overcome these hardship.
